Do you have a passion for embedded software development? Would you like to work with the application of the newest cellular technologies that plays a major role in securing clean water and energy around the globe? Are you up for the challenge of developing high quality firmware for long-lasting applications running on battery?

Become a part of our Technology team
Kamstrup is a Danish technology company and a world leading supplier of intelligent metering solutions and services. We experience significant demand for our products, solutions and services, where we have a strong focus on developing the most innovative and value-adding intelligent metering solutions and services for energy- and water consumption and was in 2022 awarded with the innovation prize by Dansk Industri (DI). Our ambition is to transform meter data into insights that will help utilities optimize the production and distribution of clean water and energy.
With a direct reference to our Head of R&D – Cellular Development, you will become part of our Technology team developing cellular solutions for our intelligent metering systems – systems that are rolled out across Europe and North America. You will join a team of six colleagues working together on developing high-quality connectivity solutions that enables everything from advanced functionality with low response times to ultralong battery lifetime in devices installed in flooded pits. The team is characterized by a friendly environment, where we help each other to deliver the right quality at the right time – and have fun while doing so.**
A job with focus on team work, development and technical responsibility
In the newly established position as Embedded Software Developer, you will have a key role in developing our cellular communication solutions, which are a strategically important product portfolio. These solutions are key to ensuring Kamstrup offerings continue to be top-of-the-line, and at the forefront in using the newest technologies.
More specifically, together with the rest of the team, you will be responsible for the embedded software development of communication solutions for our smart meters, including:

  • Applications using cellular technologies such as 5G technologies NB-IoT and Cat-M, as well as 2G/3G/4G
  • Embedded firmware development in C
  • Unit testing in C
  • Test software in Python

Personality matters
As a person you value teamwork and would like to become a part of a team co-developing on projects and where we use each other’s strengths to ensure the best designs and coherent implementations. You are creative, analytical, structured and have a proactive mindset. In addition, you like to get implementations “off the ramp”, i.e. features developed and tested for product releases.
You have a professional background in Engineering, Computer Science or similar and minimum 2 years of experience working with embedded development. It is essential that you have experience programming in C for embedded use cases. In addition, it will be an advantage if you have worked with power limited (battery driven) devices and having experience in Python will also be seen as an advantage.
You are fluent in English both written and oral. Danish will be an advantage.
We offer more than just a job
You will become part of a well-performing team, which offer good work-life balance and sparring with competent and experienced developers. You will experience being at the forefront of the application of technologies for our types of use cases, with close cooperation with partners such as network operators, modem manufacturers and more.
Kamstrup is a rapidly growing business which provides many possibilities for future career development, whether you want to expand your technical competences to become a technology specialist, work more across the organisation, or focus on you embedded firmware skills.
