As a Senior Contract Manager in our Global Construction Procurement team, you will support one or several of our offshore wind projects during the construction phase. Whilst the primary focus will be contract management of tier 1 / major construction contracts.

Your tasks in the role:

  • Contract management of high value, complex contracts to ensure contractual deliverables are met during the construction phase;
  • Close collaboration with the package team during construction phase; advising on contractual and commercial issues, identifying risks.
  • Reporting to the PM and line management within Procurement Organization on regular basis, providing input for SteerCo meetings, strategical discussions about major Contractor issues.
  • Depending on project set-up, undertaking SPOC (Single Point of Contact) role to manage interfaces within CM team, provide coordination between CM and PM teams with regular meetings during construction phase, advice on contractual issues, identify risks and make sure that risks are captured in the project risk registry.
  • Being the single point of contact for the Contractor regarding all commercial and contractual matters and management of respective meetings.
  • Responsible for drafting of Employer communications and responding to Contractor’s correspondence;
  • Change management including variation order requests, issue variation order documentation and cost assessment/control.
  • Claim management including drafting the claim, collecting the evidence documents and cost input for all incoming/outgoing claims from/to the Contractors and claim negotiations with the Contractor.
  • Negotiations with the contractors regarding contractual and commercial issues when and as they arise, such as amendments and settlement agreements with regards to the matters like extension of time, additional scope of works etc.
  • Managing all commercial operations for the respective package, such as payment application process, forecasting of costs and developing and reviewing of commercial risks and inputting into the risk register;
  • Undertaking procurement activities for the respective package which might be required during construction phase, such as additional equipment/tools or additional scope of work to the package, active engagement in SAP.


About you who we want to hire

In order for you who are looking for this exciting and developing role to have the right conditions, we believe that you have a relevant university degree with preference for Engineering, Construction or Business Management.

We would like you to have at least 10 years of experience of contract management of Tier 1 contracts preferably on offshore windfarms or power station construction projects delivered under a multi contract contracting strategy.

In addition to the above, we would also like you to have

  • Ability to anticipate and manage contractual and commercial risks to maximize / minimize impacts to the project;
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating and contract managing of high value and high risk major construction project claims
  • Experience in dispute resolution and arbitration process of major construction claims is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and SAP. Ability to learn new processes and tools quickly.
  • Readiness to travel internationally. For candidates outside Copenhagen, regular visits to the Copenhagen office are expected.
  • Team player with strong negotiation skills who can manage several project stakeholders during the construction phase.
  • Very good communication skills in English, both orally and written
