Predicting the future with Vibration Diagnostics is the key to unlock profits in the wind industry and at Siemens Gamesa we are building on decades of experience monitoring wind turbines. With hundreds of thousands of models running round the clock, processing approximately 300GB of new incoming vibration data per day, Vibration Diagnostics service from Siemens Gamesa is one of the most advanced monitoring solutions in the industry. With an upcoming fleet growth and strategic expansion of the monitoring capabilities, we are growing the team of 18 with additional three software developers.

About the team
Vibration Diagnostics Development team is part of the Software Solutions organization, and the team is responsible for the software applications needed to monitor the Siemens Gamesa turbine fleet. This ranges from data collection in big volumes, to diagnostics model execution and user front-end for handling warnings and trigger inspections in the fleet.
Vibration Diagnostics is divided in three agile teams that are part of the Diagnostics Agile Release Train following the SAFe methodology and to foster ownership and high velocity we follow the approach of stream aligned teams.
To grow the team working with predictive model execution, we are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join the team of skilled developers and experts working with the newest technologies within Azure cloud and applications/APIs developed in Python. The team is adopting cloud native technologies and have a high focus on CI/CD using Azure Pipelines.
Collaboration and a continuous learning environment are key to our success and as the team share the ownership of the software, the team members continuously strive to pair program and learn from each other. In Vibration Diagnostics Development you will have the option for personal growth as well as mentoring colleagues.
How to contribute to our vision
As a Senior Software Engineer in Vibration Diagnostics, you will influence the development path for our application suite and ensure that not only functioning and tested software is developed but built it in a way that is easy to refactor, self-documenting, and as a result easier to debug.
More specifically, your work will cover three main points:
Responsible for cloud-based DevOps of the Vibration Diagnostics application suite in Python with SQL and data lake as main persistent storage types.
Drive application architecture design towards clean architecture
Collaborate in an Agile (SAFe) environment with data scientists, architects, IT and engineers.
What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are looking for you, who wants to make real what matters and who wants to change the world to renewable energy.
The ideal candidate holds an academic degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar in combination with thorough practical experience with some of the following
SW development in Python
Database management (SQL and APIs)
Working in a structured Agile environment (SCRUM/SAFe/XP)
SW best practices like GIT, CI/CD, DevOps and testing
Azure services and Cloud engineering is a plus
The ideal candidate is not afraid of working with terabytes of data and thrive in a collaborative and flexible working environment.
Most importantly, you collaborate with colleagues to achieve the best results and you have a desire to develop your skills. You have good collaboration skills and you can manage to act in different cultural contexts.
